National Instruments opens Office in Chile

National Instruments, a global technology company that currently serves the Cono Sur region, today announced the official opening of an office in Santiago, Chile. The NI Chile office provides direct field engineers, training and the strong Alliance Partner Network to customers in a variety of industries including mining, defense, academia and energy. Working with NI since 2006 as a direct distributor for NI, Sociedad de Innovación y Transferencia Tecnológica Limitada will now work with NI as an Alliance Partner offering complete solutions and high-quality products based on graphical system design.

Foster Wheeler wins Circulating Fluidized-Bed Steam Generator Contract in the Philippines

Foster Wheeler AG (Nasdaq: FWLT) announced today that a subsidiary of its Global Power Group has been awarded a contract by Daelim Industrial Co., Ltd. for the design and supply of one circulating fluidized-bed (CFB) steam generator for the SM200 Phase 1 Coal Fired Power Station for Sarangani Energy Corporation, a joint venture company between Alsons Consolidated Resources, Inc. and Toyota Group.

Foster Wheeler has received a full notice to proceed on this contract. The terms of the agreement were not disclosed and the contract value will be included in the company’s first quarter 2013 bookings. Commercial operation of the new steam generator is scheduled for 2015.

Foster Wheeler will design and supply the 100 MWe (net megawatt electric) CFB steam generator plus auxiliary equipment for the project which is located in the province of Sarangani on Southern Mindanao, Philippines. The CFB steam generator will be designed to burn coal while meeting applicable environmental regulatory requirements.

Invensys completes First Phase of MAC Contract for New Russian Refinery

Invensys Operations Management, a global provider of technology systems, software solutions and consulting services to the manufacturing and infrastructure operations industries, has successfully completed the first phase of a main automation contractor project at the new Yaysky oil refinery in Kemerovo, a city in Russia’s Kuzbass region.

Under the terms of the multimillion dollar agreement, Invensys, as the main automation provider, has supplied complete control and safety solutions, including field instrumentation, process analytics and valves. Included in the project are the company’s Foxboro® distributed control system, Triconex® emergency shutdown systems and Foxboro measurement and instrumentation solutions, as well as new Foxboro visualization and configuration tools. The company will also provide comprehensive installation, engineering, development, support and on-site training services. During the execution of the project Invensys played a key role in the selection of suppliers and contractors, managing the supply chain and improving the efficiency and transparency of pricing to optimize the total cost of ownership of the project.

NefteKhimService JSC, a Russian company and investor in the Yaysky project, selected Invensys as the MAC after an open-vendor bid in 2009.

Rockwell Automation names new Presidents for Latin America and Asia-Pacific regions

Joseph Sousa has been appointed president of Rockwell Automation’s Latin America Region.  Joe brings a strong sales execution mindset to the region along with the ability to build on the success we’ve had over the past decade" .Sousa, most recently vice president sales, Latin America, will report to John McDermott, senior vice president, Global Sales and Marketing. He will be responsible for the company’s growth and performance strategy and growing market share in this important region.

GE launches Web Store for High Performance Control Solutions

GE Intelligent Platforms has announced the launch of its online store dedicated to the company’s high performance control solutions. This new resource is designed for intuitive navigation to make it easy for customers to discover GE control solutions and purchase online or from their local GE Intelligent Platforms distributor.
