Kepware Technologies Announces Partnership with EnerSys Corporation

Kepware Technologies, a software development company focused on communications for automation, announced today that it has established a partnership with Houston, Texas-based EnerSys Corporation (EnerSys). Under the agreement, EnerSys is approved to promote, distribute, and sell licenses for Kepware's flagship product KEPServerEX® v5 Communications Platform, including all Electronic Flow Measurement (EFM) related products, as well as its LinkMaster and RedundancyMaster® solutions.

KBR and Yokogawa Electric Corporation aAnnounce Ammonia Technology Alliance

KBR and Yokogawa Electric Corporation today announced the formation of a new alliance in which KBR will supply a fertilizer automation package as part of its ammonia process technology solutions to customers worldwide. This solution complements KBR’s industry leading ammonia portfolio of process licenses, basic engineering design package, proprietary equipment and catalyst supply.

The fertilizer automation package will couple KBR’s ammonia process technology expertise with Yokogawa’s know-how of process control systems to streamline the work process, develop standard configurations and simplify interfaces between various suppliers. Yokogawa will supply the CENTUM integrated production control system, the ProSafe-RS safety instrumented system and selected solution-based software. KBR will provide “know-how” in the form of enhanced distributed control system configuration and advanced applications, such as operations management, performance monitoring, advanced process control, operator training simulator and dynamic simulation studies for fertilizer plants.

Foster Wheeler awarded SNG Studies by Pecket Energy in Chile

Foster Wheeler AG has announced that a subsidiary of our Global Engineering and Construction Group has been awarded a contract by Pecket Energy to perform feasibility, conceptual and basic engineering studies, and develop an overall investment cost estimate for a substitute natural gas (SNG) production facility which is planned to be built near Punta Arenas, Chile.

The value of the award was not disclosed and will be included in Foster Wheeler’s first-quarter 2013 bookings. The main objective of the project is to produce syngas that will be used as a clean feedstock for the production of SNG, which gas is intended to be distributed to the existing grid in the region of Magallanes, Chile for domestic consumption or for industrial purposes.

The new facility intends to include several state-of-the-art units, including air separation, partial oxidation for syngas production, syngas treatment, acid gas removal, methanation and solid sulfur production. Foster Wheeler’s scope of work is expected to be completed by mid-2013.
