Dates, details and Call for Abstracts opportunities announced for 2013 ISA Water/Wastewater Symposium

The International Society of Automation (ISA) announces the dates and conference details of its 2013 ISA Water/Wastewater and Automatic Controls Symposium, which will take place 6-8 August 2013 at the Crowne Plaza Orlando-Universal Hotel in Orlando, Florida, USA. Now in its eighth year, the annual symposium offers a unique opportunity for automation, instrumentation and SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) professionals in the water and wastewater sectors to share ideas, network and earn continuing education credits.

The 2013 ISA WWAC Symposium is a three-day event that focuses on the challenges associated with providing reliable, secure and cost-efficient automation for the world’s municipal water/wastewater infrastructure. The gathering features two full days of technical speakers/presentations, networking events, a poster session, and a supplier showcase. This year’s program also includes an optional tour of a local water treatment facility, and two optional short courses on SCADA cybersecurity and flow meter section/sizing. ISA Announces Technician Day at ISA Automation Week 2012

Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, USA (2 August 2012)—The International Society of Automation (ISA) announced today the details of its Technician Day Program that will take place at ISA Automation Week 2012: Technology and Solutions Event. The annual conference is scheduled for 24–27 September 2012, at the Orange County Convention Center, West Concourse, in Orlando, Florida, USA.

Technician Day, scheduled for Wednesday, 26 September, offers information that will help attendees sharpen their instrumentation and automation skills and acquire an understanding of the proficiency and performance of today’s instrumentation tools and devices. The Technician Day Program includes:

  • General Session: An Open Discussion About the Future of Automation with industry experts: Michael Caliel, CEO and President, Invensys Operations Management; Wolfgang Morr, General Manager, NAMUR; Chet Mroz, President and CEO, Yokogawa Corporation of America; Robert Novotny, Managing Consultant, Price Waterhouse Cooper; and Cliff Pedersen, CIO, North West Upgrading, Inc.

Power Generation Industry Leaders Gather for ISA's 55th Annual POWID Symposium

Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, USA (14 June 2012) – The 55th Annual ISA Power Industry D ivision (POWID) Symposium celebrates another successful event in its 55-year history with attendees coming from as far away as Hawaii, Australia, the Netherlands and China. This year’s symposium, held in Austin, Texas, USA, 3–8 June, gave power generation industry leaders the opportunity to network with peers; to view the latest products and services, showcased by 28 industry vendors; and to attend presentations on the industry hot topics, focused around nuclear and fossil fuel power generation.

ISA Announces Technology Excellence Tracks at ISA Automation Week 2012

Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, USA (30 July 2012) - The International Society of Automation (ISA) announced today its two Technology Excellence tracks: Security Technology and Wireless Technology that will take place at ISA Automation Week 2012: Technology and Solutions Event. The annual conference is scheduled for 24–27 September 2012, at the Orange County Convention Center, West Concourse, in Orlando, Florida, USA.

The Security Technology track covers security issues that have affected industry over the last year, how the issues affect plant operations and how to avoid them. The Wireless Technology track offers information focused on new techniques that are related to wireless technologies, including emerging technologies and critical applications.
