Mike Caliel appointed President and CEO of Invensys Operations Management

Invensys plc announces the appointment of Michael J (Mike) Caliel as President and CEO of Invensys Operations Management with effect from 1 January 2012.

Mike was previously with Invensys from 1993 to 2006, latterly as Chief Executive of Invensys Process Systems, the largest of the predecessor companies that were brought together to form Invensys Operations Management in early 2009. He has over 25 years experience in the industry and was until recently CEO of Integrated Electrical Services, Inc.

He is taking over from Sudipta Bhattacharya who joined the Group in 2007 as President of the Wonderware Software division and has been the leader of Invensys Operations Management since February 2009. Sudipta has decided to leave next year to take up a new role outside Invensys. In the meantime, he will be working with Mike to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities within the division and will also be assisting on group business development in the Middle East and Asia.

ABB completes acquisition of Powercorp

Zurich, Switzerland, Dec. 12, 2011 – ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, today announced that it has completed its acquisition of Powercorp.

Powercorp's portfolio includes automation and control technologies to manage the integration of renewable energy into isolated grids and keep generation in balance with consumption. Tyco International Completes Acquisition of Visonic Ltd.

Tyco International Ltd. (NYSE: TYC) announced today that the company has completed the acquisition of Visonic Ltd. (TASE: VSC.TA), a global developer and manufacturer of electronic security systems and components, for approximately $100 million in cash. The acquisition was first announced on September 15, 2011.

A leader in advanced wireless technology for the security industry, Visonic's portfolio includes wireless communications technologies that offer increased range and secure communications. These technologies are in use in more than 1 million wireless installations around the world.

"The addition of Visonic to the Tyco Security Products portfolio advances our strategy to provide our global customer base with broad-based, best-in-class security solutions," said Mark VanDover, President of Tyco Security Products. "The company's technological capabilities and strong presence in markets such as Europe enable us to further enhance the solutions and reach of our intrusion security portfolio."

The Visonic business, which has annualized revenues of more $75 million, will be integrated into Tyco's Security Products unit, a leading global provider of access control, video and intrusion solutions.

Rotork acquires Prokits Ltd

Rotork has announced the acquisition of Prokits Ltd, a designer and manufacturer of valve adaptor kits and accessories for the valve industry, based in Mansfield, UK. Rotork has acquired all the share capital of Prokits.

Prokits has been known to Rotork for many years and the company has built an established customer base for valve adaptation kits and accessories. The sole owner of Prokits, Craig Mellins, has been appointed as General Manager of Rotork Valvekits into which the Prokits business will be merged.

Commenting on the acquisition, Rotork Chief Executive Peter France said: “The acquisition of Prokits, for which Craig Mellins has established a good reputation in the market over the last decade, will increase the customer base and scale of our Rotork Valvekits valve adaptation and accessory products business.”
