Daelim Signs Contract to Build Philippines’ ZAM 100 Coal-Fired Thermal Power Plant

Daelim has recently signed a contract to build a USD 213 million (KRW 228.7 billion) ZAM 100 Coal-Fired Power Plant with the Alcantara Group in Manila, Philippines. President Lee Chul-gyun, Daelim’s Plant Business Division Head, and related personnel of the client attended the contract signing ceremony.

This project was ordered by the Alcantara Group’s power generation subsidiary, San Ramon Power Inc., and total power generation capacity is 100MW. The plant will be built in Zamboanga, Philippines, and construction will take 35 months. Daelim will supply in EPC turnkey fashion the master design, detailed designs, and plant’s core facilities – boilers and main equipment -- and subsequently carry out the test run as well. In particular, the company plans to construct an eco-friendly power plant by applying circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boiler that can sharply reduce air pollutants such as nitrogen oxide or sulfur oxide compared to the existing thermal power plants.

Foster Wheeler wins EPCm Contract in China for world’s largest EPDM Rubber Facility

Foster Wheeler AG (Nasdaq: FWLT) announced today that a subsidiary of its Global Engineering and Construction Group has been awarded an engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCm) contract by LANXESS Changzhou Co., Ltd for a new ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) rubber plant to be built at the Changzhou Yangtze Riverside Industrial Park at Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, in the People’s Republic of China. Honeywell to supply Process Control and Security Upgrade for Russian Refinery

Honeywell has signed an agreement with Alliance Oil Company, a leading independent oil operator in Russia and Kazakhstan, to supply Honeywell Experion Process Knowledge System (PKS) at Alliance Oil Company’s Khabarovsk Refinery in far east Russia. The agreement will also include upgrading the plant’s security with the latest Honeywell security solutions, Radar Video Surveillance (RVS) perimeter security and OptaSense pipelines security.

The five-year agreement to use Experion PKS will allow the refinery to integrate data from all critical process subsystems to improve decision-making, reduce on-going maintenance costs by enabling operators to more easily monitor and manage all aspects of the production process and improve the productivity and profitability of the production process.

“By installing a complete range of Honeywell technology we hope to vastly improve our competitive advantage by optimizing our process efficiencies,” said Eugene Vorobeichik, general director Alliance Oil Company. “We chose Honeywell technology as it’s designed to provide a complete solution for not only improving our control systems, but also ensuring the security of staff and our facilities.”

Yokogawa Australia wins Supply Bid on major Gas Project

Yokogawa Australia has won a supply bid from Bechtel for integrated control and safety systems for the Chevron-operated Wheatstone Project west of Onslow, Western Australia. The contract, which is worth approximately AUD $20 million, will see the majority of the manufacturing work completed at Yokogawa facilities in Australia.

Yokogawa will be supplying the CENTUM® VP integrated production control system, the ProSafe®-RS safety instrumented system, and the Plant Resource Manager (PRM) plant asset management system for two LNG trains that will have a combined capacity of 8.9 million tons per annum.

This supply win follows Yokogawa's involvement in the upstream portion of the Wheatstone Project, where Yokogawa was awarded the supply of control systems for the control and safety systems for the subsea controllers and the topside offshore infrastructure.

Yokogawa Australia's Managing Director, John Hewitt, comments as follows on how the latest Bechtel supply win underscores the recognized competence and experience of Yokogawa Australia in major LNG projects:

"Yokogawa Australia has a dedicated team of highly skilled process and IT engineers and support staff (57 of whom are based in Perth) providing the enabling technology to a number of key projects in Western Australia, notably in the oil and gas and minerals processing industries. Yokogawa opened a new Perth office in 2010 after 21 years in WA, and is currently doubling its office space to support these projects and provide training in our systems. Yokogawa Australia is developing into a center of excellence for LNG projects as measured by total gas train capacity which will be controlled by Yokogawa's VigilantPlant system".
