1-port Modbus RTU/ASCII/TCP-to-DNP3 serial/TCP/UDP gateways

The MGate 5109 is an industrial Ethernet gateway for Modbus RTU/ASCII/TCP and DNP3 serial/TCP/UDP protocol conversion. All models are protected with a rugged metallic casing, are DIN-rail mountable, and offer built-in serial isolation. The MGate 5109 supports transparent mode for easily integrating Modbus TCP to Modbus RTU/ASCII networks or DNP3 TCP/UDP to DNP3 serial networks.The MGate 5109 series gateways support Modbus and DNP3 Protocol Traffic Monitor for easy troubleshooting, especially during the installation stage. Communication issues could be caused by incorrect software parameters, such as slave ID and register address, 5109 also support agent mode to exchange data between Modbus and DNP3 networks or to act as a data concentrator for multiple Modbus slaves or multiple DNP3 outstations. The rugged design is suitable for industrial applications such as power, oil & gas, and water and wastewater.

Siemens gets TUV Certification in the development process Automation products

As the first company to receive TÜV SÜD certification based on IEC 62443-4-1 for the interdisciplinary process of developing Siemens automation and drive products, including industrial software, Siemens received the certification at seven development sites in Germany. Among other things, these sites are developing Simatic S7 industrial controllers, Simatic industrial PCs, Simatic HMI (Human Machine Systems Interface) devices for operator control and monitoring, and Sinamics drives as well as the TIA (Totally Integrated Automation) Portal engineering software. The international series of standards IEC 62443 defines the security measures for industrial automation systems, with Part 4-1 of the standard describing the requirements of the manufacturer's development process.
The TÜV SÜD certificate is based on the standard IEC 62443-4-1 (Secure Product Development Lifecycle Requirements, Draft 3 Edition 10, 01.2016). This standard includes security-relevant requirements such as capabilities and expertise, security of third-party components, process and quality assurance, secure architecture and design, and issue handling as well as security updates, patches and change management.

China CEOs discuss smart manufacturing’s role in improving China Manufacturing productivity

CEOs and experts from China’s leading companies gathered in Shanghai and Beijing to explore how smart manufacturing will deliver value to the manufacturing industry and support government initiatives including China Manufacturing 2025. Yokogawa releases FieldMate R3.02 versatile Device Management Wizard

Yokogawa Electric Corporation announces that it has significantly enhanced its FieldMate® device management software, and is releasing this as FieldMate R3.02 on August 10. FieldMate is a versatile software program used to configure, adjust, and manage a wide variety of field devices used in factories and other production sites. This latest version of FieldMate includes new functions that reduce maintenance workload by simplifying a number of field maintenance tasks.

Digital communications standards are playing an increasingly important role in communications between plant central control systems and field devices. With a number of digital communication standards in use today, plants often have devices from multiple vendors that use different standards.
