ISA100 Wireless Compliance Institute displays benefits of ISA100 Technology at Hannover 2013

The ISA100 Wireless Compliance Institute (WCI) announced it will display a live demonstration at the upcoming Hannover Messe Industrial Fair 2013, (8-12 April), Hannover, Germany. Users will learn about the technical excellence built into the ISA100 Wireless standard, the increased capability that multi-vendor interoperability provides, and how an international design and development from customers and experts alike can lead to a global, stable and sustainable standard – all of which ultimately benefit end users.

The demonstration is located in the Wireless Pavilion, Hall 8, Booth C30.

“With tens of thousands of wireless devices already installed in growing markets, users are realizing the advantages that wireless technology brings for increased efficiencies and improved ROI,” said Andre Ristaino, managing director of the ISA100 WCI. “The ISA100 wireless standard provides significant and unique benefits not supported by other alternatives including -- a universal, scalable, non-proprietary, multi-functional, and IP-based network.”

The ISA100 WCI recently added new leading suppliers such as Control Data Systems, Pepperl+Fuchs and Scott Safety Systems to its list of supporting suppliers.

“We are excited to join the ranks of leading suppliers to promote the benefits of ISA100 Wireless worldwide,” said Ovidiu Ratiu, general manager, Control Data Systems. “Based in Romania, we specialize in the custom development of software and hardware supporting wireless communications and we are an active promoter of open standards in the wireless communications arena such as ISA100 Wireless. We are able to design and integrate all the elements of a wireless system from sensors to communication devices and to cloud-based control centers, as well as provide customers with the ability to do their own integration.”

BlackBox Wireless Point-to-Point Ethernet Extender Kit

Wireless Point-to-Point Ethernet Extender Kit  extends Ethernet links between buildings wirelessly and with ease. No laying cable!

The Wireless Point-to-Point Ethernet Extender Kit gives you a quick way to extend an Ethernet link between buildings. Because it’s wireless, you avoid the hassle and expense of laying cable. You get a 40-Mbps wireless link up to 3 miles away—and that’s enough bandwidth to support several workstations—with lower speeds at longer distances of up to about 6 miles (9.6 km). The kit comes with two wireless extender units synchronized to work together. Mount each on a building within line of sight of each other. The extenders are waterproof, weatherproof, and compact—about the size of a bottle of water. They blend unobtrusively into building architecture without large, unsightly antennas.

What’s more, the kit’s extender units don’t require a nearby power outlet because they receive their power through the Ethernet cable via a 12-VDC power injector included with each extender unit.

The extender units also offer easy setup. An LED indicator shows when the extenders are properly aligned and receiving a strong signal.

Product Highlights

  • For affordable, point-to-point wireless Ethernet extension up to 6.2 miles (10 km).
  • Simple to install and configure—extenders are pre-synchronized to work with each other.

Advantech Releases Two New Ultra Fast Gigabit Ethernet PoE Cards

Advantech, a leading industrial communication solutions provider has launched two new PCIE Gigabit Ethernet PoE Cards, the PCIE-1672PC and 1674PC are two and four port cards designed to work in industrial PC’s such as Advantech’s UNO series of devices.

With up to 15.4 watts of power per port, the two PoE cards can power range of IEEE802.3af compliant devices without the need for additional power wiring. Each card has an integrated network processor (NPU) enabling the industrial PCs’ CPU to perform its other tasks by offloading the network traffic management to the NPU.  Each card has 2.25KV power isolation and Ethernet isolation to ensure that they are protected against short circuits, so the cards won’t be damaged in the event of adverse power effects.

Both cards have jumbo frame and link aggregation support to enable higher performance and throughput of data to double the speed of the network by merging two gigabit Ethernet pathways into a single connection.  With support for Windows 7, Vista and XP operating systems these are ideal cards for Wafer inspection, product quality control system, AOI (automated optical inspection) system and automated traffic enforcement systems.
