Advantech Launches New Entry Level Multifunction PCIE DAQ Card

When users need the features of a 12 bits multifunction card i.e. analog trigger, and a waveform generator, the new PCIE-1810 with 16 channels, 12 bits and a 500KS/s sample rate is the best choice.

The PCIE-1810’s 500KS/s sample rate enables users to acquire more data in a waveform so that users can plot the measured waveform completely.    Through the use of the analog trigger mode for analog input users can set trigger levels so that when the event is triggered it will start acquiring data and filter unnecessary signal when the data needs to be analyzed.

If customers don’t have the extrabudget required by a dedicated waveform generator, the PCIE-1810 will do the same job. By being able to generate a wide range of continuous waveforms and display them on the PC’s monitor users can simulate and output waveforms for a range of features such as sound or vibration.

Siemens new LG radar level transmitter provides application flexibility using guided waves

With its new Sitrans LG series, Siemens is offering a flexible portfolio of guided wave radar transmitters suitable for virtually any type of industrial application. The modular design of the four basic versions Sitrans LG240, Sitrans LG250, Sitrans LG260 and Sitrans LG270, with numerous configuration options, allows for level measurement in the oil and gas, chemical, pharmaceutical as well as food and beverage industries. The modular radar transmitter covers a broad application spectrum for the measurement of liquids and interfaces, from aggressive materials to hygienic conditions and complies with SIL2 safety standard.

Sitrans LG240 was specifically designed for hygienic applications in the pharmaceutical or food and beverage industries and has the required EHEDG, FDA and 3A certificates. The Sitrans LG250 is ideal for the wide range of liquid level measurement such as those in water treatment applications. The Sitrans LG260 version accurately measures levels of solids, granulates and powders even with extreme dust. In particularly harsh environments with high temperatures up to 450 degrees Celsius (842 °F) or high pressures up to 400 bar (5800 psig), such as those in the chemical or petrochemical industry, the Sitrans LG270 is the best choice.

Sitrans LG's high frequency microwave pulses are transmitted down a rod or cable, offering reliable measurement with up to two millimeter (0.08 inch) accuracy in applications with corrosive vapors, steam, foam, surface agitation and/or liquids with high viscosity, low level, and varying dielectric or density.

Installation is simple with the device's range of pre-configured options, such as customized enclosure materials, process connections, approvals and communication options. Users will be operational in minutes with four-button programming directly at the instrument or through remote configuration with Siemens Simatic PDM (Process Device Manager) via HART communications protocol.

Agilent Technologies introduces Hydrogen Sensor for Select Gas Chromatography Systems

Agilent Technologies Inc. has introduced the new Agilent Hydrogen Sensor for the 7890B Gas Chromatography system. The new sensor helps GC users move away from costly helium carrier gas by providing the additional level of security many organizations require in order to use hydrogen. The self-calibrating sensor will automatically execute a safe sequence for the shutdown of the GC system if even a small hydrogen leak is detected, preventing potentially hazardous situations in the laboratory.

The hydrogen sensor is the latest in a series of carrier-gas-saving solutions to help GC users deal with helium supply shortages and rising helium costs. While hydrogen provides the fastest and highest resolution for chromatographic separations, sometimes changing carrier gas from helium is not possible or practical for a particular analysis. In such cases, the Agilent Programmable Helium Conservation Module, with "Sleep-Wake" modes for the Agilent 7890B GC to conserve helium, dramatically increases the length of time a helium tank can be used and reduces the cost of helium in the laboratory.

"Because laboratories face increasing supply-chain constraints and operating costs, it is our priority to develop products that provide economical operation," said Agilent's Jason Ashe, GC product manager. "We also work with our customers to develop a wide range of applications and analyzers that use a variety of carrier gases. These allow for immediate success implementing pre-optimized methods in the laboratory, significantly reducing the time-to-first-sample."

To further reduce gas chromatography labs' reliance on helium, Agilent provides alternate carrier gas solutions to help customers further decrease consumption or migrate to alternate gases. Helium conservation eliminates the need for method revalidation-a major hurdle faced by laboratories that switch to alternative carrier gases-and can reduce helium consumption by up to 90 percent.

Advantech introduces IEC-61850 compliant Modular Energy Controller

Advantech’s new ECU-1871 is Intel Atom D510 Energy Controller with 2 x LAN, 3 x COM, IRIG-B,and it has been designed to be the most flexible energy controller available. With IEC-61850 compliance, the ECU-1871 is a highly reliable, flexible and stable controller which makes it ideal for all power automation and renewable energy needs.

For flexibility, the ECU-1871 has to integrated I/O slots which can be used to add a range of optional cards: the ECU-P1706 is a 250KS/s, 16-bit, simultaneous 8 channel analog input card which is best used to monitor vibrations; the ECU-P1300 is a vibration signal modulation card also for monitoring vibrations; which come from the transformer and the gearbox of the wind power turbine ,the ECU-P1702 is a 10MS/s 12-bit simultaneous 4 channel analog input card used for monitoring the partial discharging of the transformer . These threecards give customers the best possible choice to meet their requirements and make wiring, maintenance and installation a lot easier.

The ECU-1871 includes isolated IO ports; is fanless and has no internal cabling and is protected against other damaging effects such as electrical surges and EMI, therefore making it is ideal for any harsh environment applications.

For further information about the ECU-1871, ECU-P1706, ECU-P1300 and ECU-P1702 visit www.advantech.com or contact your nearest Advantech authorized dealer. All models except the ECU-P1702 are available immediately, the P1702 will be available at the end of Decemeber.
