Moore Industries Smart HART Loop Interface and Monitor (4-Wire)

The HIM HART Loop Interface and Monitor unlocks the full potential of new and in-place smart HART multivariable transmitters and valves. It converts HART to 4-20mA Signals. The HIM allows up to three additional analog process variable measurements from a smart device with no additional process penetrations or wiring.

It takes full advantage of “Legacy” Instruments. The HIM lets you leave trusted (and paid for) smart HART transmitters and valves in place, yet still take advantage of all the information they have to offer. Works With Every Smart HART Device With a very simple PC program, the HIM programs in minutes to interface with every HART-compatible monitoring and control device:

• Multivariable Mass Flow Transmitters

• Dual-Sensor Temperature Transmitters

• Pressure Transmitters

• Coriolis, Magnetic, Ultrasonic and Vortex Flow Meters

• pH Transmitters

• Radar and Hydrostatic Level Transmitters

• Valve Positioners and Damper Operators

New Gateway Strategy Simplifies groov for Allen-Bradley

Want to build groov operator interfaces for an Allen-Bradley RSLogix PLC system? You can.

All it takes is a SNAP PAC controller and Opto22 EtherNet/IP Gateway Strategy for groov. The Gateway Strategy runs on the PAC, which acts as a gateway between groov and the A-B system.

With groov, it's simple to build operator interfaces for your control system. And you can use these interfaces to monitor and control your system from virtually any device with a modern web browser, from an iPod touch all the way to a web-enabled HDTV. Just imagine what you can do!

A future release of groov will support OPC UA, and at that point you'll be able to build groov HMIs for any system that's compatible with OPC UA. In the meantime, this Gateway Strategy gives you a way to make it work.

The EtherNet/IP Gateway Strategy is available for free in our Samples & Freeware downloads. It includes all the files you need plus a technical note that shows you how to use them.

Download the EtherNet/IP Gateway Strategy for groov.
Read the EtherNet/IP Gateway Strategy for groov Technical Note to see how it works.

Thermocouple Terminal Blocks with Audit Capable Female Connector

The new DRTB Series thermocouple terminal blocks are manufactured with thermocouple alloys to guarantee accurate readings. A built-in SMPW compatible female receptacle accepts a miniature thermocouple connector. The female connector allows the user to connect to a handheld meter for applications such as data collection, quality assurance compliance, capability studies and troubleshooting installation or repairs.

The plastic housing is made from gray polyamide 6.6 thermoplastic resin with a UL 94 V0 rating for 85°C. These thermocouple terminal blocks are fully enclosed and require no end plates. The screws and clamps are zinc plated, and together they provide an excellent vibration, maintenance free and corrosion resistant connection.

DRTB terminal blocks mount on standard 35 mm DIN rails or 32 mm G-type rails, and are identified with calibration type and positive (+) and negative (-) connections. Wire entry is funneled to allow quick wire insertion even with stranded wire.

Agilent Technologies One-Box Connectivity Solution for Easy GPIB, USB, and RS-232 test over LAN

Agilent Technologies Inc.has announced the Agilent E5810B LAN/GPIB/USB gateway, the next-generation replacement for the E5810A with added USB capability. The new gateway allows users to connect and control, over a standard local-area network, up to 14 GPIB instruments, up to four USB instruments via a self-powered hub, and an RS-232 instrument.

With the gateway's improved GPIB transfer rate of 1.2 MB/s, engineers can reduce test time and improve production. The E5810B supports 1000BASE-T (1 Gigabit) LAN/Ethernet as well as 100BASE-TX and 10BASE-T to meet the demands of higher network bandwidth.  Designed for ease of use, the E5810B comes with a built-in LCD display, allowing users to check the IP address of the gateway for quick setup. Users can easily configure the gateway via a password-protected Web interface.  The E5810B allows multiple users in different locations to access a centrally located test system. Connecting a wireless router to the E5810B enables engineers to wirelessly control instruments from a PC where LAN connection is unavailable or inconvenient.

"With this fast, efficient one-box connectivity solution, engineers can effortlessly control a broad range of instruments simultaneously over standard LANs," said Ee Huei Sin, vice president, Agilent's Basic Instruments Division. "The E5810B's versatility makes it ideal for system integrations, shared test systems in R&D, design verification and manufacturing environments."
