69th Annual Instrumentation Symposium for the Process Industries

Symposium will be held at Texas A&M University from Jan 21 - 24, 2014. The Instrumentation Symposium for the Process Industries, now in its 69th year, continues to educate professionals and students in the instrumentation industry. At the symposium, practical technical papers as well as vendor exhibits are presented with a focus on education. Over the years, the Symposium has grown in both stature and attendance, with over 400 attendees at the 2013 Symposium.

The first Instrumentation Symposium took place in 1946, and was called a “Short Course on Instrumentation for the Process Industries”. What could not be envisioned at that time were the advances and the rapid changes in the field of instrumentation. Many industry objectives may still be the same, but the tools used for instrumentation and control continue to evolve. Each year, the Symposium is arranged into current critical areas of instrumentation. Topics include:

  • Instrument Reliability
  • Safety Instrumented Systems
  • New Technology
  • Cyber Security
  • Asset Management
