Technip awarded subsea contract for the Tubular Bells development in the Gulf of Mexico

Technip has been awarded a lump sum contract by Hess Corporation for the development of the Tubular Bells field, located in the Mississippi Canyon area of the Gulf of Mexico at a water depth of approximately 4,500 feet (1,370 meters).  The contract covers the design, engineering, fabrication and subsea installation of more than 28 miles (45 kilometers) of flowlines(1), steel catenary risers(2), pipeline end terminations, piles and structures.

Technip's operating center in Houston, Texas will perform the overall project management. The flowlines and risers will be welded at the Group’s spoolbase in Mobile, Alabama.  Offshore installation is scheduled to be completed with the Deep Blue, one of Technip’s deepwater pipelay vessel, during the first half of 2013.

ISA Opens Two New Membership Grades to Automation Professionals

KBR Awarded Contract to Provide Construction Services for Plant Expansion in Oklahoma

Houston, Texas — February 15, 2012 — KBR (NYSE: KBR) today announced it was awarded a contract to provide construction services for a new 150 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) gas processing plant. KBR will provide pre-construction services and installation for the processing plant expansion at its existing 200 MMSCFD gas processing plant. The expansion will increase the cryogenic gas processing plant’s capacity by 150 MMSCFD, bringing the total processing capacity to 350 MMSCFD in the Woodford Shale.

Technip awarded contract for a Gas and Condensate Export project in Saudi Arabia & Kuwait

Technip has been awarded a contract by Kuwait Gulf Oil Company (KGOC), for the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning assistance of their Gas and Condensate Export System project. The project is spread over onshore and offshore locations in two countries, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

The objective of the project is to deliver a combination of lean gas, condensate and sour gas through a single 12” export pipeline from Al Khafji Joint Operations (KJO) facilities in Saudi Arabia to Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) tie-in facility,namely the Intermediate Slug Catcher being constructed under KOC Project No EF/1718 near Al-Ahmadi, Kuwait. The facilities will also assist KPC / KJO in achieving one of their primary targets of 1% flaring by reducing the gas flared and additionally monetize valuable hydrocarbon resources.

Total export pipeline length is 110 kilometers, with 4 kilometers onshore in Saudi Arabia, followed by 47 kilometers offshore and 59 kilometers onshore in Kuwait.

Technip's operating center in Abu Dhabi will execute the project, which is scheduled to be completed by the second semester of 2014. Offshore installation will use the Comanche, one of the vessels which entered the Technip fleet with the acquisition of Global Industries.
